Michele Medina-Ferrone is a multi-disciplinarian violinist. She loves to play music by ear, improvise, and read notes. Michele has collaborated with a variety of arts organizations including Salt Lake Ballet Cooperative, Utah Youth Orchestra and Ensembles, Harmonic Muses, and she organizes chamber music ensembles. Michele studied classical violin with Barbara Scowcroft at the University of Utah and jazz violin improvisation with Nora Germain. Once part of Rakatanga, an Eastern-European inspired jazz folk group, she is now focusing on early music, composition, and other musical skills. She speaks Spanish and English and is starting a Salt Lake chapter of Utah Mariachi program. She has been an orchestra teacher and a Spanish DLI teacher for Jordan School District.
